Headlands Residency: From the Studio

I am thrilled to announce that I have been awarded a 2025 Artist-in-Residency as an Arts Professional at the Headlands Center for the Arts. This residency will provide dedicated time and space to deepen my engagement with From the Studio, a long-term, multimedia oral history project that makes visible what creative individuals do in their studio environment. Drawing from decades of interviews and new conversations, this project aims to amplify the voices, ideas, and commitment of artists, writers, and arts professionals, and to shed light on the unique spaces where their work and ideas take shape.

The Headlands is a place with a special resonance for me. Some history: I was an Affiliate Artist at Headlands from 1995–1997. During that time, I had the opportunity to write, develop curatorial projects, and build lasting relationships with a vibrant community of artists and thinkers. Returning to the Headlands offers a unique chance to reflect on this history while opening new possibilities for my current thinking and work. I look forward to contributing to and learning from this dynamic community once again.
