Terri’s appraisal services are informed by her extensive knowledge of art history, her curatorial experience, her understanding of art markets, and her ability to contextualize works within their cultural and historical framework. She is a Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), having completed their rigorous training, including the Appraisal Foundation Sequence (SUNY Purchase, New York) and the ASA USPAP 15-hour course and biannual USPAP update courses. She has also participated in numerous fine arts and decorative arts appraising seminars.

A notable example of Terri’s consulting work is her long-term relationship with the Sonya Rapoport Legacy Trust. Since 2005, she has played a crucial role in advancing Rapoport’s legacy by co-authoring books and catalogs including Pairing of Polarities: The Life and Art of Sonya Rapoport (Heyday, 2012) and Objects On My Dresser (Kala Art Institute, 2023). Her work includes collection preservation and management, acquisitions, strategic institutional development, curatorial consultation, and public engagement to enhance recognition of Rapoport’s art.
Terri Cohn has been instrumental in preserving and advancing Sonya Rapoport’s legacy. Working with Alla Efimova, she advised on documenting and inventorying the work, facilitated acquisitions, consulted on exhibitions, and produced public programs, including an online video series. Cohn is the foremost expert on Rapoport’s work, having curated two retrospectives during her lifetime. Her ongoing research has led to three books, including Sonya Rapoport: Objects on My Dresser. Her depth of knowledge, insightful writing, and unwavering commitment have made her an invaluable advocate for Rapoport’s place in art history.
